Pond and garden wildlife watch

Protect the pond. Observe the garden gently.

tallGuard keeps its heron response focused on pond fish, while optional cat and bird alerts help you understand activity around other sensitive parts of the garden.

Start with the right expectation

Herons can trigger your configured response. Cats and birds provide optional activity alerts.

Heron detection can trigger your configured pond response. Cat and bird detections are optional email alerts, helping you decide when to look, adjust a physical measure, or leave wildlife undisturbed.

Use each alert well

Three different jobs, one local camera.

Pond protection

Keep the heron plan as it is.

Use tallGuard alongside fish cover and safe edge protection. Detection is an early warning and response layer, not a replacement for physical pond safety.

Cat activity

Know when a cat is visiting.

It is designed to help stop cats entering garden spaces and outdoor areas. It activates automatically when a cat is detected. This encourages the cat to move away from the area.

Nesting-box watch

Notice activity without getting too close.

Bird-detection emails can show that there is activity at a box. They do not identify species, chicks, nest health, or nesting success.

Nesting-box care

Set up early, then give wildlife space.

A camera should support quiet observation, never turn a nesting box into something that needs frequent checking.

Before nesting

Choose the view before activity begins.

Position and test the camera outside the box and well before nesting season. Keep cables secure and avoid changing the setup once a box is occupied.

During nesting

Watch from a distance.

Use an alert as a prompt to observe quietly, not to open the box or approach it. Follow local wildlife guidance for protected nests and species.

Around the box

Make access harder for cats.

Use thoughtful box placement and physical safeguards suited to the site. Do not use loose netting, fishing line, poison, or any measure that could trap or injure wildlife.
